Congress president Amit Chavda, leader of the opposition Paresh Dhanani, Gujarat in-charge Rajeev Satav and Congress treasurer Ahmed Patel met Congress chief Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi on Tuesday, to discuss candidates.
After the meeting, Chavda said, “We have finalized eight more candidates for Gujarat. After the meeting of the CEC (central election committee), the names will likely be announced on Wednesday or Thursday. The party’s central leadership will have further deliberations on the remaining seats soon. Congress has already named four candidates. BJP is in panic, so even though it is in power it is afraid of us announcing candidate names.”
