Lewd-posts attack on woman academic

AHMEDABAD : A woman educationist has been targeted by a man on social media. The victim is a management expert who delivers lectures at prestigious institutes. The accused has been identified as Vishal Thakkar .
“Thakkar once used to be friends on the social media network of the victim. Recently he had posted lewd remarks about the woman educationist.The woman has lodged a complaint against Thakkar at the cyber crime cell of the city crime branch,” said crime branch officials.
During primary investigation, the crime branch found from the website account of the accused that he claims to be a lawyer and also an honorary officer of civil defence.
“The woman was being regularly targeted by Thakkar. She contacted senior officials of crime branch and narrated the incident to them. After which an FIR was registered against Thakkar,” said crime branch officials.
Crime branch officials said they will serve a notice to Thakkar to remain present at the crime branch office and then after proper questioning will take steps against the accused. “We have registered an offence under section 354 (b) of IPC and IT Act,” said crime branch officials.
