LD Museum launches teachers training programme

Ahmedabad: The LD Museum recently launched the Teachers Training Programme (TTP) to connect schools with museums. Sujata Parsai, director of the museum, told TOI that the initiative was aimed at making the museum an educational resource.On Tuesday, 30 teachers from 14 schools with backgrounds in social studies, science, math, literature, language, and arts participated in the event. "We have a rich repository of artefacts and objects that can be talked about while teaching students. This initiative is to groom teachers as resource persons who can focus on object-based learning through museum objects," she said.As part of the programme, the teachers also conceptualized age-specific, interactive tools for experiential learning in the museum space, rooted in a skill-based approach which complemented their school curricula.
