Kanodia gets ready for new role

VADODARA: Veteran Gujarati film actorNaresh Kanodia, who has acted in over 100 films, hardly ever required aretake’ during film shootings but it seems that he may need to take one inhis role a politician.An error while filing his nomination form ledKanodia to go for a ‘retake’ and he had to fill up a fresh form.However, this time there were no mistakes as he handed the form at 1.15 pmamidst cheers from his supporters.When Kanodia walked into the zillapanchayat office to file his nomination papers for the Karjan seat, it seemed asif he walked into one of his film sets.He was flamboyantly dressed in anornate green silk kurta, wearing embroidered ‘mojadis’ and aspecially designed ‘khes’.As Kanodia walked into the zillapanchayat office, he was followed by supporters shouting "Jeete ga bhai jeetaga, Naresh Kanodia jeete ga’. If there were any misgivings among theKarjan BJP supporters about the party ticket being given to an‘outsider’, it was not evident here on Friday.Though mostparty workers were raising slogans and showing victory signs, some Karjan BJPmembers stayed away from the fanfare, still peeved about the party ticket beingdenied to Amit Jethwa.
