AHMEDABAD: A 36-year-old resident of Juhapura has registered a complaint with Vejalpur police alleging he has been receiving extortion calls.
Vejalpur police have caught Muzaffar Khan Pathan and his friend Ejaz Shaikh alias Ajju for the offence.
According to complainant Sanaulla Pathan, who owns Bagban Constructions, when he was returning home at 11.30pm on August 5, Muzaffar Pathan, a resident of Juhapura, approached him with his three accomplices and told him that he had earned good money and that they wanted their share.

They threatened that he would lose his life if he failed to give them money.
He then started getting calls and messages from unknown numbers demanding Rs 2 lakh.
"On August 7, his friend got a call from Muzaffar Pathan telling him to talk to Sanaulla to pay Rs 2 lakh or face dire consequences. One of his employees also got a similar call. When these tactics did not work, Pathan barged into his office the same day with others and threatened his staff," said a Vejalpur police official.
Investigators said that they have sought details of the calls and CCTV camera recordings from his office.
