AHMEDABAD: Retired additional DGP R B Sreekumar has been getting unidentified nocturnal visitors of late.
On Wednesday, Sreekumar intimated the police about two attempted break-ins at his house in Gandhinagar.
Sreekumar, who recently won a case challenging the government for superseding him, did not have security at home since April this year. The frequent break-ins have alarmed him and his neighbours, most of whom are retired senior bureaucrats and police officials.

After the incident Gandhinagar police stepped up patrolling in the area.
"On October 28 I found that two glass panes of a window in my store house had been removed. I ignored it. However, a similar incident took place on Tuesday," said Sreekumar.
In this incident Sreekumar found that the door to his store house, that gave easy access to his residence, was open. "I remember having shut it, especially after the glass panes had been removed. I do not know if there is a sinister motive behind the incidents," said Sreekumar.
Sreekumar who was chargesheeted for allegedly leaking information to the media, had put the government on the mat with his explosive affidavits before the Nanavati-Shah panel.

However, till he lived in Ahmedabad, he was given security after he received threat calls for his deposition before the commission. Sreekumar moved to Gandhinagar soon after his retirement in February 28 this year.
K R Kaushik who was promoted as director general of police, superseding Sreekumar, is now the state police chief after the Election Commission directed that his predecessor P C Pande be removed in view of the forthcoming elections.
Sreekumar chooses to put it philosophically: "The doctor knows best how the patient is."
