Initiate talks: Congress to Gujarat CM

Congress leaders and party MLAs on Thursday met chief minister Vijay Rupani over Hardik Patel’s fast and gave a memorandum to him comprising their demands. The opposition also declared a one-day symbolic fast for Friday.

After meeting the CM, Dhanani said that the party requested the government to initiate a dialogue with Hardik Patel.

“A farmer’s son is

fasting

for the farmers’ issues but the government is insensitive to his demands,” alleged Dhanani after holding a meeting for around 30 minutes with the CM.

In the memorandum to the CM, the Congress demanded loan waiver for farmers, release of Hardik’s aide Alpesh Kathiria, withdrawal of cases against Patidars and better education and healthcare facilities, and employment for youths.
