A book called 'Letters to a Young Architect' written by Christopher Benninger will be launched by B V Doshi at the Ahmedabad Management Association on Saturday.

AHMEDABAD: A book called 'Letters to a Young Architect' written by Christopher Benninger will be launched by B V Doshi at the Ahmedabad Management Association on Saturday. Benninger has lived and worked in India for several years and has won many awards for his works. The event is hosted by Indian Interior Designers (IIID), Ahmedabad chapter. The programme includes a day-long panel discussion on the book.

'Letters to a Young Architect' is a memoir of Benninger's life in India and recounts his personal concerns about architectural theory and contemporary urban issues.The book is a collection of autobiographical narratives and ideas reflecting a man's journey of the spirit from America to India and the philosophical considerations that matured from his experiences.
A faculty member at the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT), Jay Thakkar, who is also the secretary of IIID Ahmedabad chapter, said: "Benninger is a renowned and respected architect and his inputs will be very useful for the next generation of architects and students."
