polls on Sunday. The national spokesperson of BJP, Sambit Patra, said that the ‘One Nation One Election’ would save on election expenses. “The cost incurred for holding the 2014 Lok Sabha elections was Rs 3,900 crore. The Niti Ayog has estimated that if all elections happen at the same time, the expenses incurred will be Rs 4,500 crore, which is a huge saving for this country.” A senior leader of Congress Pawan Khera in his address said, “Why do we need elections once in five years across nation? Because voting is the only weapon everyone has? He then added, “In the past 27 years, coalition governments have been formed and enormous progress and development has taken place.
