Heat alert: Govt activates action plan, urges caution
Gandhinagar: In view of increasing heatwave conditions in the state, the health and family welfare department on Wednesday issued guidelines for citizens asking them to take precautions for rising temperatures. An official statement said all health centres have been instructed to strictly follow the "heat and health" guidelines set by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). The statement said daily monitoring of heatstroke cases was being conducted through the Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) since March 1, and the heat wave action plan was in force. Facilities for dedicated ‘heatstroke management rooms' with five beds in each district and sub-district hospital and two beds in each community health centre (CHC) have been made available.
