Gujarat: Second round of RTE intake to fill 11,044 seats
Ahmedabad: The Gujarat govt has announced the second round of admissions under the Right to Education (RTE) Act for 11,044 seats in 9,770 schools in the state. Before seat allocation, parents will have the opportunity to revise their school preferences. This reselection process will be open from May 25 to May 27. The second round of seat allotment will be declared on May 29.
Out of the available seats in the second round, 5,953 are in English-medium schools, 3,303 in Gujarati-medium schools, 1,614 in Hindi-medium schools, and 174 seats in other mediums. The education department outlined a three-day window for parents to update their choices before the second allotment. Students allotted seats in the second round are required to complete their admission process by June 4.
According to official data, the RTE admission process for Class 1 initially covered 83,678 seats in private primary schools. During the first round, 77,925 students were allotted seats. However, 5,753 seats remained vacant due to a lack of preference selection. Additionally, some students who were allotted seats did not complete the admission process, resulting in a total of 11,044 vacant seats across the state.
