Ahmedabad: A 65-year-old woman was found murdered in Chharodi village of Sanand taluka late Tuesday night, with police suspecting an attempt was made to destroy evidence by partially burning the body. The victim was identified as Madinabanu Qureshi.
According to preliminary findings, the killer is suspected of having attacked Qureshi on the head with a heavy stone, leading to her death. Her semi-burnt body was later discovered at her residence, raising suspicions of a planned effort to conceal the crime.
A team reached the spot after receiving information and began an investigation. Officials are examining multiple angles, including robbery and personal enmity, though the motive is not yet clear. Efforts are on to identify and trace those involved, a senior Sanand police officer said.
