Gujarat: Man held for threatening teenager to make her private photos viral on social media

AHMEDABAD: Cyber crime cell of the city police on Wednesday held a man named Suraj Gavle (25) of

Chandkheda

for allegedly threatening a 19-year-old teenage girl living in

Naroda

to make her

photos

in inner wear viral on social media.

Interestingly during interrogation, it came to light that Gavle was the same accused who had cheated a man named Kumar Vora in the name of giving a loan of Rs 5.80 lakh at a lower interest rate of 1.2%.

Cybercrime cell sources

said that they have arrested the accused in both the cases.

According to assistant commissioner of police, cybercrime - Jeetendra Yadav the accused has been held in both the cases and has been sent for pre- arrest Covid-19 test.

Cybercrime cell sources said that in the first complaint the teenager had alleged that she got a WhatsApp message from the accused’s mobile number that their company is offering

free innerwear

for women and hence if they sent their nude photos, or photos in innerwear they will send them free innerwear.

"According to the complaint the girl then sent her "photos" to the WhatsApp number on which she had received the message. However, after some time the man started threatening her to succumb to her demands or he will make her photos viral on social media. The girl then approached us and lodged a complaint on Tuesday" added Yadav.

According to cybercrime sources. they traced the number and got hold of Gavle, who has confessed his crime before us, said a cybercrime official.

Interestingly it also came to light during interrogation that the same accused had lured one Kumar Vora of Chandkheda of giving him a loan of Rs 5.80 lakh at yearly interest of 1.2%. "Vora fell into the trap. The accused then on different reasons such as file charges and taxes got the complaint deposited a total of Rs 1.36 lakh in his bank account and then never attended his call" added a cybercrime cell source.
