Govt revises allowances for its employees

Gandhinagar: The state finance department on Friday issued separate notifications, revising the allowances of govt employees. The notifications stated that the changes were made after the Gujarat Civil Service (Revision of Pay) Rules came into force from Jan 1, 2016.
"After careful consideration, the govt is pleased to decide that the existing provision of travelling allowance, daily allowance, travelling allowance on transfer, and travelling allowance entitlement of retiring employees, etc., shall be modified. The pay matrix level for determining the travelling allowance, daily allowance, travelling allowance on transfer, and travelling allowance entitlement of retiring employees is as indicated in Gujarat Civil Service (Revision of Pay) Rules, 2016," one of the notifications stated.
A separate notification was also issued on Friday, providing old pension scheme benefits to employees who joined duty before April 1, 2005, on fixed pay.
