AHMEDABAD: The
Gujarat Congress has announced it will launch a
satyagraha protest
to oppose the Vijay Rupani-led BJP government’s failure to provide irrigation and drinking water from the Sardar Sarovar Narmada dam and its overall failure in addressing the problems of farmers.
Himanshu Patel, Congress spokesman, said, “The Gujarat BJP government of
Vijay Rupani is advising farmers not to sowing crops as they don’t have water to supply for irrigation from the Narmada dam. To raise the people’s voice against the BJP and expose its failure in providing irrigation water to farmers and drinking water to the people, the Congress will shortly launch a state-wide satyagraha movement, demanding irrigation and drinking water.”
