Govt's cyclone relief package inadequate: Gohil

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat Congress president Shaktisinh Gohil said the state government's figures on losses to horticultural crops, other crops and livestock because of Cyclone Biparjoy are lower than the actual damage suffered, and people are also complaining about not receiving the cash doles.

He said teams of Congress leaders will visit affected districts and compile a report on actual damage and losses that people have had to face because of the cyclone. Gohil "There are a huge number of complaints from people who have not received cash doles and the amount decided by the government is grossly inadequate. The losses of horticultural trees, crops and livestock is under-reported," Gohil said.
