AHMEDABAD: Gujarat government and four universities of the state, including Gujarat University, MS University and Saurashtra University where Parul University has been running illegal study centres, are passing responsibility for action against the centres.
Sources said Parul University has three study centres, one each at Ahmedabad, Rajkot and Vadodara.

However, according to rules, a university cannot run its study centre outside its campus. But Parul University authorities have started study centres on the campuses of other universities. Even if a university wants to run its study centres elsewhere, it has to take prior permission from the education department.
In the case of Parul University, however, no permission was taken and the government did not initiate any action against the university, sources said.
