Girl robbed of phone, laptop; thinks it's an April Fools' prank

AHMEDABAD: When Priya Singh found her laptop and

mobile phone

missing on the morning of April 2, she casually dismissed it as, an albeit delayed, April Fools' prank.

It was only after her belongings did not turn up even after two days that she realised that they had been stolen.

Priya, who lives in a PG in Ahmedabad's

Kocharab

area and works for a private company, has registered a police complaint regarding the theft.

After conversing on the phone early on the morning of April 2, Priya fell asleep with the doors to her PG room open. Police surmise that someone took advantage of the unlatched doors and made off with four mobile phones, one camera, a laptop, ATM card and other documents.

The cost of the stolen goods amounts to Rs 46,500.

In her complaint, the unfortunate girl mentions that she thought it was a friend's April Fools' prank.
