GETCO restores transmission in cyclone-affected areas of state

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Ltd has restored electricity transmission services across all areas affected by Cyclone Biparjoy, an official statement said on Sunday.The cyclone had caused extensive damage to 391 substations, 675 transmission lines of various voltage classes, 43 H-Frame structures, and 78 transmission towers in Saurashtra, Kutch, and districts of north Gujarat, the statement said. It added that GETCO mobilized 100 teams comprising over 2,000 personnel, and power could be restored to substations and critical areas by June 20 itself. “Despite challenging working conditions, transmission lines supplying power to all critical extra high voltage (EHV) and high tension (HT) consumers were restored,” the statement said . tnn
