Four youths held for kidnapping 7-year-old

AHMEDABAD: Four youths kidnapped a seven-year-old boy, Rajkumar Patel, from his home in the staff quarters of VS Hospital on Sunday night.
Hours later, the boy was rescued and the four abductors were arrested by the Ellisbridge police. Victim���s mother Ila Patel, 33, who works as a nurse in VS Hospital, had pointed the needle of suspicion towards Naresh Jade, 23, who is a close friend of Prathmesh Desai, 23, a youth staying in the same campus, whom she knew.
"Prathmesh had a relationship with Ila.He knew that she was married to Ramesh Patel, director of a veterinary hospital in Bavla, and that she could tap his financial resources. He wanted to make quick money and had got his henchmen to demand a ransom of Rs 8 lakh,"said deputy commissioner of police (zone 1)A K Jadeja.
According to the police, Ramesh is Ila's second husband. Ila's first husband Shivlal Pandav died three years ago. Ramesh, however, is staying with their younger son Harmil, 5, at Bavla.
The incident took place when Rajkumar was alone at his residence. Prathmesh along with his three friends - Naresh Jade, Krunal Patel, 18, and Premal Contractor, 23, - opened the front door of the house and took away Rajkumar in a van.
Rajkumar was taken to Naresh's residence in Kochrab where he was tied to a cot.
