AHMEDABAD: A truck driver who got trapped in the debris of another vehicle was rescued by city fire brigade officials on SP Ring Road near Bopal early on Friday morning. The driver, Santosh Yadav, 27, got stuck after his truck carrying a concrete mixture machine rammed a stationary heavy vehicle carrying iron scrap around 5 am. According to fire brigade officials, a team led by deputy chief fire officer Rajesh Bhatt used hydraulic spreader and cutters to free the driver.
"Had there been a delay in rescue operation, the driver would have died under the weight of the truck," said Bhatt. The operation lasted 45 minutes.
