AHMEDABAD: The auditorium of National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad came alive on Friday as a whole new Amdavad was put forth for a visual treat. Becoming a part of the Ahmedabad Heritage Festival, student members of NID Film Club are hosting a two-day film festival.
Five films on Ahmedabad were screened during the festival, three of them being live action films and the other two on animation.

Ramya Ramakrishnan, a student in the organizing committee said, "The films Sarkhej', Sarai' and Pran eka Pran' have been made by students of film and documentary making course. The rest Pench' and Utsav', depict the festival of Uttarayan and garba respectively."
This short film festival called Amdavad Meri Jaan', commenced on Friday. The second set of screenings will take place on Monday. "Among the films be screened are those made by class X and XI students of Mahatma Gandhi International School (MGIS) as part of their class project. These films take a peak into the lives of people with occupations that are gradually losing favour among people in the city. These include blacksmiths, khichu sellers, thread (manja) makers, mahawats (elephant men) and tea stall owners," said Lisa Chazot, a teacher at MGIS.
