Ceiling fan falls on employee in Gujarat University administrative office

AHMEDABAD: A ceiling fan came crashing down on the head of a trainee employee in the administrative office of Gujarat University on Thursday afternoon.
Sources said the accident occurred in Room 33 of the academic administrative office around 2pm. The fan fell on Raju Yadav, who was working in the room with other employees.
Yadav, who began bleeding from the head, was immediately shifted to the Civil Hospital.Yadav got three stitches on the head and was discharged.
The incident spread fear across the campus, but senior varsity officials, including the registrar, kept mum on the issue.
Sources said the university claims to be number one in the state but has several dilapidated rooms across the campus, which may prove dangerous for administrative and academic staff and students. Sources said that no administrative official bothered to check on the injured employee.
The university also did not issue any statement on this issue.
