Ahmedabad: A sub-inspector with Shahpur police on Friday filed an FIR for spreading a fake message of hooch tragedy in the Shahpur area of the city.
According to the FIR filed by S M Sisodia, cops came across a message that mischievously claimed that a hooch tragedy took place in Kidi Pada ni Pol in Shahpur on January 1. The message also contained a video in which an unconscious person was shown lying on the ground.
Cops went to Kidi Pada ni Pol, enquired with the people there and found that no such incident had taken place on January 1. Police enquired with a man who shot the video who told the cops that the man in the video had seizures and he fell on the ground. Some persons, who got the video, made it viral.
Cops have registered a case under IPC sections for forgery, for breaching peace and for causing a fear and alarm amongst the public against an unknown person. tnn
