Fake domicile certificate: 95 students under scanner

AHMEDABAD: At least 95 students are under scanner of Admission Committee for Professional Under Graduate Medical Courses (ACPUGMEC) for getting admission in medical and dental courses in the state by produced

. The committee, while investigating the cases, has confirmed that 17 students had submitted fake

domicile

during admission.


Senior officials of the ACPUGMEC said that after the Surat fake domicile certificate racked was busted early this week, have got details of 17 students who have secured admission based on the fake domicile certificate.

The official said that ACPUGMEC along with the home department officials will check the domicile certificates submitted by students and verify it. The presidnet of parents’ association, Vasant Patel said, “We have asked the committee to verify all domicile certificates as there are several students who are figuring in both the merit list of

Gujarat

and Rajasthan.” The association said that if the committee does not take any measures they may have to approach the high court and seek intervention.

Concerned over the bogus certificates, the committee has decided that each student will have to get documents verified at the 11

helpline

centres and this would be done only after getting a prior appointment. The officials said that for the first time the appointment system has been introduced as the committee wants all the documents to be verified.

The ACPUGMEC authorities will give around 120 appointments daily at each helpline centres. The last date for verification of the documents and paying the fee is July 11.
