Enraged man hits daughter with car

AHMEDABAD: In a tragic incident in Amraiwadi on Sunday , 12-year-old Gracy Parmar and her maternal grandfather Dahya Rathod were allegedly hit by a car driven by Gracy's father Premji alias Vijay Parmar, 35, a resident of Saraspur.
Vijay and his wife Geeta Par mar's marital dispute is pending in a court.
“The court had given custody of Gracy to her mother and permitted Vijay to meet her every Sunday .Vijay had gone to meet her daughter on Sunday when the unfortunate incident took place,“ said inspector O M Desai of Amraiwadi police station.
Desai added that Geeta's brother Hitendra Rathod has alleged that Vijay deliberately tied to run over Gracy , a student of Std V in Shantiniketan School, and Dahya.
“Both were rushed to a nearby hospital. We have detained Vijay for questioning,“ Desai said. Vijay , who is into coal business, was married to Geeta about 15 years back. “For the past fi ve years, Vijay and Geeta had a marital dispute which landed in the court,“ said a police official.
Social worker Harshad Patel said that Vijay had come to meet Gracy at about 5.30 pm on Sunday at Geeta's house near Swastik Crossroads in Amraiwadi.“Trouble started when Vijay insisted on taking Gracy along with him. According to Geeta's brother Hitendra Rathod, Vijay tried to pull her towards the car.Seeing that, her maternal grandfather Dahyabhai rushed out of the house and stood firmly in front of the car,“ said a police official. About then Vijay started his car. “Dahyabhai had no time to move away and hence clung on to the bonnet of the car.Vijay then also drove his car hitting Gracy who came in the way , injuring her seriously,“ added Desai.
