ED gets five-day custody of Saket Gokhale

AHMEDABAD: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) took into custody the Trinamool Congress’s (TMC) spokesperson, Saket Gokhale, to probe intothe allegations of misappropriation of funds collected through a crowdfunding campaign.
A special court on Wednesday granted five-day custodial interrogation of Gokhale to investigate the money laundering charges. Gokhale was lodged in Sabarmati Central Jail in connection with allegations of misuse of crowdfunding.ED sleuths obtained his custody on Tuesday and produced him before a special PMLA court.
The special judge granted five days’ custody of Gokhale to the agency, said assistant solicitor general Devang Vyas. The central agency began its probe into the money laundering allegations after an offence was registered against Gokhale for cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy. tnn
