Don’t take risky Kiki Challenge, warn police
Ahmedabad: The
In a tweet on Tuesday, the Gujarat police said, “Don’t pass or accept Kiki Challenge”.
It further said, “Standing outside window or jumping out of a moving auto, train, car, or to break into a dance may seem bizarre. But that’s exactly what social media users are doing as part of the Kiki Challenge. It is not just your followers watching your groove; the traffic police are taking note too.”
The police warns, “Kiki Challenge may land you in a hospital bed or behind bars, depending on what you do and where you are.”
Akshayraj, DCP traffic, said that the police will lodge complaint and book the people whoever takes the Kiki Challenge.
“Roads in our country are not like the roads in Europe, so doing Kiki Challenge here may prove risky to the person who takes the challenge and for others also,” said Akshayraj.
He said that the police will monitor the social media so that no one dares to do the Kiki Challenge.
What is Kiki challenge
The challenge requires the performer to dance along with a moving car and then jump back into the car. It involves a slow moving car, with the person jumping out of the car and dancing to the first few lines of Drake's track, 'In My Feelings', on road mostly in the middle of traffic.
How the trend started
Although the “Kiki, do you love me?" song is created by Canadian rapper Drake, the Kiki Challenge went viral on June 30 when comedian Shiggy posted a video dancing to the song on a road. Later American footballer Odell Beckham Jr also recorded himself dancing outside his car. Even celebrities like Will Smith have uploaded the video of Kiki Challenge on top of a bridge in Budapest.
