AHMEDABAD: The deposition of two British envoys before special court in Himmatnagar in connection with the killing of three NRIs during the post-Godhra riots has now been postponed to January 3, 2012.
The examination of two former British High Commissioners to India — Ian Reakes and Howard Parkinson was scheduled through video conferencing on Wednesday.
But complainant Imran Dawood’s counsel A M Malek sought three months’ time from the court in order to arrange for deposition.
However, special prosecutor representing Supreme Courtmandated SIT, Ajay Choksi vehemently objected to the application claiming that the complainant was unnecessarily delaying the trial. Four months passed, but things have not moved further.
