Cyclone work pushes back teachers’ transfer orders

Ahmedabad: The state director of primary education on Saturday announced that transfer orders for primary teachers will be delayed by a day because of Cyclone Biparjoy.
The department had conducted registrations from June 6 to 10. The department was to begin verification of applications on June 14 at taluka level and transfer orders were to be issued on June 30 and July 1. As workers who were processing the transfers had been pressed into action on cyclone duty, the verification process was disrupted.
The primary education department said transfer orders will now be issued on July 1 and 2. Sources in the department said that 25,380 applications have been received for internal transfers.
