AHMEDABAD: A restaurant providing couple room facility was busted by Maninagar police station officials on the basis of a tip-off on Friday night. Five couples were found from the joint and its managar was arrested by the investigators.
According to Maninagar police station officials, a team led by inspector BC Barot, raided a restaurant in Gopi Krishna Complex at 9.30 pm, following a tip-off about illegal activities going on in its couple rooms.
"When we reached the spot, we got to know that the booths serving as couple rooms could be closed from inside and there was very dim light. Despite police orders, the management and owners had created such a place where couple used to get cozy. We have arrested manager Sohanlal Prajapati and found five couples at that point. The owner of the establishment, Deepak Shastri had fled from the spot before the raid," said Barot.
According to officials, it is the second couple room bust in the last two months where restaurants were using booths to provide privacy to couples.
