Congress SC leaders complain to governor about atrocities

GANDHINAGAR: Gujarat Congress Scheduled Caste Morcha leaders met Governor Dr Kamala on Monday to register their complaint about increasing incidents of atrocities against the SC community in the state and the government's apathy towards the same.
Congress party Morcha leader Ishwar Makwana, Rajya Sabha MP Pravin Rashtrapal, MLAs Shailesh Parmar and Manilal Vaghela, Congress General Secretary P K Valera and former additional DGP Rajan Priyadarshi and other senior leaders gave a memorandum regarding dalit atrocities in the state under the present government.
The Congress said that on average, one dalit was murdered everyday in Gujarat. The leaders said dalits were living under threat and the government had failed to ensure the community's development. tnn
