AHMEDABAD: Congress MLAs, carrying gas cylinders on their shoulders, marched into the Gujarat Sachivalaya and demonstrated outside the state assembly to protest against the increase in prices of liquified petroleum gas (LPG).


The price of a domestic LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 50 and that of a 19-kg commercial cylinder that is 19 kg LPG refill was increased by Rs 350. Amit Chavda, the leader of the Congress in the assembly, said that the increased prices are hurting the budgets of every household.

“The BJP came to power promising to curb rising prices in 100 days but now the BJP leaders who were protesting high prices in 2014 are nowhere to be seen,” said Chavda.
