City to celebrate Mother Teresa's canonization

AHMEDABAD: On Sunday, Amdavadis of various faiths will congregate to celebrate the canonization ceremony of Mother Teresa. The event will be organized as Mother Teresa is declared a saint by Pope Francis of the Roman Catholic Church in a ceremony in Vatican City.
A special rally is being held, which will begin at 4.30 pm from St Xavier's Church in Navrangpura and culminate at St Xavier's Loyola Church in Memnagar.The rally will also pass through LD Engineering College, Gujarat University and then move towards Vijay Crossroads.
At the end of the rally, a special prayer meeting will be held. On Saturday a Mother Teresa International Film Festival was organized by Gurjarvani at the Loyola Auditorium by Arch-Bishop Thomas Macwan.
Three major international films including one where Charlie Chaplin's daughter Geraldine Chaplin portrayed the role of Mother Teresa was shown during the film festival.
