AHMEDABAD: The city received a different group of challengers on Monday. A group of five differently-abled riders who have taken up a challenging motorcycle expedition from Mumbai to Leh was received with great enthusiasm by a group of artists, youths, NGOs and children in the city at around 9.30 pm. The objective of the ride was to raise funds along the way and build houses for the residents at Leh whose houses have been destroyed by flashfloods.
The leader of the team, Vinod Rawat said, "It has been a challenging ride.
We have different motorcycles and have to coordinate our riding speeds. We had a tyre puncture which delayed us a bit from the scheduled timings. However, all the exhaustion is gone with the kind of warm welcome we have received here at Ahmedabad. It is amazing."
The team was scheduled to arrive to the city at 7 in the evening and resume their ride the following morning at 7 am.
