Gandhinagar: Bihar panchayati raj minister Deepak Prakash not being named as an NDA nominee for the Vidhan Parishad is a matter between the
BJP and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RML), Chirag Paswan, Union minister of food processing industries, said in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
The RML is a constituent of the BJP-led
National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party is also a constituent of the NDA.
Replying to a question on the issue on the sidelines of a two-day meet organised in Ahmedabad to boost the food processing sector in the country, Paswan said that he is not the right person to comment on the issue, as it is a matter between the BJP and the RML.
“The BJP is the biggest partner in the NDA and all allies speak with the BJP on the issue of allocation of seats. I do not know what gap happened in the discussions between the BJP and RML because of which he (Deepak Prakash) was not nominated for the Vidhan Parishad. There is a constitutional issue here too. If he does not become a Vidhan Parishad member, it creates a question mark over his ministership. It is a matter between the BJP and RML,” the Union minister said.
