Chamber elects new president, V-P

surat: bharat gandhi has been chosen the president of the southern gujarat chamber of commerce and industry (sgcci) for 2000-2001. praful shah is its the new vice-president. till now, gandhi had been sgcci's vice-president. he will assume his new role at an installation function to be held shortly. both gandhi and shah were elected unopposed in the tradition of the sgcci, which is the oldest chamber in gujarat and the apex trade and industry body for the entire south gujarat region.gandhi has since long been associated with the sgcci. he has been a member of the insurance committee of the federation of indian chambers of commerce and industry (ficci). he has visited japan, taiwan, bangkok, germany, italy, switzerland, holland, hong kong and britain. shah is also a member of the managing committee of the sgcci for the past 17 years. he is associated with the yarn and fabric manufacturing industry.
