AHMEDABAD: Karan Jain, one of the two accused dodging the police net in the Bijal Joshi gangrapecum-suicide case, surrendered in the sessions court here on Wednesday.

The city police arrested four accused— Sajal Jain, Sugam alias Monty Jaiswal, Ashok alias Mandan Jaiswal and Chandan Jaiswal—already in judicial custody. Another accused Manish Jain, a resident of Ajmer, is still traceless.
According to public prosecutor Akhil Desai, the investigating agency sought the custody of the accused for 15 days to find out the whereabouts of Manish.
He contended that since Karan was accused of rape, the DNA test on him was required. Additional public prosecutor Sudhir Brahmbhatt said that the investigating agency also needed to find out who provided shelter to the accused when he was on the run.
