A branch manager with a private bank has filed a complaint with Ellisbridge police station after she found out that someone had made online purchases from her account without her knowledge.

AHMEDABAD: A branch manager with a private bank has filed a complaint with Ellisbridge police station after she found out that someone had made online purchases from her account without her knowledge. Krishna Shah, a resident of Pritamnagar, says that Rs 5,316 is missing from her account. Shah holds a joint account with her husband. She came to know about the illegal purchase when she got an SMS alert on Monday at 4.30 pm.

"She was shocked as neither she nor her husband had made any such purchase," said M G Solanki, sub-inspector of Ellisbridge police station. "She immediately went through the transaction details and realized someone had used her account to place an order on a website. We have sought details of the website and have started searching for the accused."
