AHMEDABAD: The Anti-terrorists squad (ATS) will also be a part of the Rath Yatra security.

The Ahmedabad police to ensure that no untoward incident is reported during the 145th Rath Yatra which will be taken out in the city on July 1 will have drones and body-worn cameras also as a part of the security.

The city police commissioner Sanjay Srivastav said apart from 238 CCTV Cameras along the route, about 2,500 body-worn cameras will also keep an eye on any untoward incident. He said the cops will continuously monitor the feeds of these 238 CCTV cameras.

The commissioner said for the last two months the cops are keeping an eye on the sensitive areas through drones.

Apart from these, the Rath Yatra will also be monitored closely by the commandos using helicopters which would be continuously patrolling along the route.

The city police have also decided that a mini control room would be set up at eight police stations, including Karanj, Madhavpua, Shahpur, Gaikwad Haveli, Sher Kotda, and Kalupur, Khadia and Dariyapur.

Also, the moving vehicles also would have CCTV cameras which will also keep an eye. The police will have 10 teams of bomb detection and disposal, chetak Commando, and dog squad among others.

Meanwhile, 147 jawans of the Ahmedabad Fire and emergency services will also be deployed in nine places to assist the police and also clear the path in case of any tree falling or house collapse incidents.
