Art grows prominent on city’s canvas of culture

A surge in art events indicates that the city is expanding its palette of culture. Gujarati Sahitya Parishad hosted a talk on Pablo Picasso’s Guernica, one of his best-known works, on Saturday. Prof Dipak Kannal, sculptor and former dean of MSU, spoke about the anti-war series.

At ATMA House, Raw Collaborative’s third edition exhibits 70-plus designers, artists and craftspeople. Figurative Expressions, an Archer’s show, displays an ensemble of 14 artists from across India.

Gallery 079 has curated an exhibition of digital artworks. At Hutheesing Visual Art Centre, in a show titled ‘Of Goddess and Women’, Shweta Rao Garg has rendered the life of women. Ahmedabad ni Gufa features Aarti Patel’s 38 watercolour paintings titled ‘Breathing the Past’.
