Ex-Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani among victims
BJP leader and former Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani is among the victims of the Ahmedabad Air India crash. "Our leader Vijay Rupani, was going (to London) to meet his family. He is also a victim in this incident. May his soul rest in peace. This is a big loss for the BJP," Union minister and Gujarat BJP president CR Paatil told reporters.
Speculations on the cause of crash
Former pilot Ehsan Khalid noted that the landing gear's position was unusual for that phase of flight. He pointed out that the aircraft appeared to have faced a loss of power, which could be attributed to engine malfunction.
