Ahmedabad crime branch arrests three wanted Chambal dacoits
AHMEDABAD: Crime branch sleuths were shocked to see several bullet injury marks on hands and legs of Jorsinh Kushwah, Yogendra Kushwah and Chatursinh Kushwah, all three hailing from Bhind in Madhya Pradesh when they were arrested on Thursday night from Bapunagar and Odhav. It came as a surprise for crime branch when it came to light during their interrogation that they are not ordinary criminals but dacoits of Chambal valley in Madhya Pradesh, carrying a reward of Rs 10 thousand each on their heads.
Joint Commissioner of Police, crime branch JK Bhatt said the three were involved in several cases of murder, dacoity and even assaults on police teams which dared to catch them. “In 2008 the three had killed Rameshsinh Kushwah, a rival gang member to avenge the murder of their gang kingpin. They had abandoned the dead body of Rameshsinh Kushwah in Chambal and fled to Gujarat. They stayed at Surat for some time and then came to Ahmedabad. They used to work as daily wage workers” added Bhatt.
Deputy Commissioner of Police crime branch, Deepan Bhadran said that the gang so dreaded in the area that no one provided cops with information and hence they managed to evade arrest for 8 eight years. “MP Police had to declare a reward to nab them” added Bhadran.
Crime branch officials said the gang was active in Chambal till 2008 and had several times exchanged fire with rival gangs and police. “That is how they sustained bullet injuries on hands and legs” added a crime branch official.
JCP Bhatt said nobody from their native village of Kakhara was ready to identify their photos which they had sent to the local police. “Even the Ramsinh Kushwah’s relative was not ready to come down to Ahmedabad and asked us to send their photos. Such was their fear in the area” added Bhatt.
