Ahmedabad: Boy kidnapped from LG hospital campus

AHMEDABAD:

Maninagar police

has registered a case of kidnapping as 12-year-old Rahul Vishwakarma- resident of Lambha village in the outskirts of Ahmedabad, went missing from

LG Hospital Campus

located in Maninagar on May 27. Police sources said Rahul’s father Dinesh, 32 had approached him only on Wednesday with a missing persons' complaint.

Senior police officials said delay of three days in a case of kidnapping can prove fatal. "How, could a father remain silent for three days after son’s kidnapping. However, while we are tracing the boy a 360 degree investigation is being carried out to know the reasons behind the kidnapping case” said a senior police official.

Senior police officials said city crime branch is assisting them in the investigation to trace the boy. However, cops were in a shock when they found out that CCTV cameras installed in

LG hospital

were not working.

"We are left with no clues. While the CCTV cameras in hospital campus are not functioning, the CCTV footage of cameras of nearby shops does not have that reach to the gate of the hospital” said Police Sub Inspector HI Rabari of

Rahul’s father Dinesh, who works in a private company at Piplaj near Vatva said that his younger son Aeesh, about one and half year old was admitted in LG hospital.

"Rahul used to come with me to the hospital. On May 27 I and Rahul went to hospital with a tiffin box for Aeesh and his mother. While I was in the hospital, Rahul was playing around in the garden of the hospital. However, after some time he went missing", said Dinesh.

Police officials said according to Dinesh, he approached us after futile search for his son for past three days. "On asking, Dinesh said he had no enmity with anyone. However, he told us that his younger brother Vivek, 16 often used to come to his house. We are also trying to find why there was delay in informing the cops about the incident” added a senior police official.
