AHMEDABAD: After waiting for a year and a half for someone to claim the 2.1 kilograms of gold biscuits and 1 crore in cash that were discovered in an Ahmedabad school, police have finally started a legal process to submit the valuables to the government.
The gold and the money were found during a cleanliness drive organised on Mahatma Gandhi's death anniversary - January 31 - in 2015.

They were in a locker in Central School, located in ONGC's Avani Bhavan in Chandkheda.
After police were informed of the find by school authorities, they requested the City Police Commissioner to give them permission to publish an advertisement to find the owner of the valuables. Since no one came forward to claim them, the police have been forced to guard them day and night.
