Adhia posted as CUG chancellor

, former Union secretary for finance and revenue and

Gujarat

cadre IAS officer, was appointed as the chancellor of

Central University of Gujarat

(CUG) by an order on Friday. Adhia was recently appointed as non-executive chairman of Bank of Baroda (BoB).


‘The President of India in his capacity as the Visitor of Central University of Gujarat (CUG) under the powers conferred under Statute 1 of the Central Universities Act, 2009, has been pleased to appoint Shri Hasmukh Adhia, IAS Officer, Former Secretary, Govt. of India, Policy Planner-Value Education, Yoga Education as the Chancellor of Central University of Gujarat for a term of five years,’ read the order signed by Vijay Kumar, undersecretary of government of India.

Adhia, considered to be brain behind demonentization move, has been close to the Modi administration since his stint in the government of Gujarat where he spearheaded key projects including Vibrant Gujarat and Karmayogi training for bureaucrats.
