Acid thrown on woman, her three-year-old

AHMEDABAD: A 25-year-old woman from Vadaj alleged that her neighbour, a 50-yearold man, threw acid on her and her three-year-old child when they were sleeping outside their house on Sunday night, over an old family feud.

Kiran Chauhan, a resident of Ramatji chawl, in her FIR stated that her husband’s younger brother had eloped with their neighbour Manoj Rathod’s daughter a year ago.

Since then, Rathod had a grudge against the Chauhans and had assaulted Chauhan’s brother two days ago. Chauhan’s brother had filed a complaint with Vadaj police against Rathod.

On Sunday night, when Chauhan was sleeping outside her house with her son, Rathod came there and threw acid on them. The two were taken to Asarwa Civil Hospital from where she filed an application of complaint.
