42 new, 265 active Covid cases in Gujarat

AHMEDABAD: The state, in the 24 hours ending 8am on Saturday, added 42 new Covid-19 cases, taking the number of active cases to 265. The state also recorded the discharge of 26 patients, as indicated by the Covid-19 dashboard by the ministry of health and family welfare, Govt of India.

In terms of active cases, Gujarat is in the fourth spot after 1,336 in Kerala, 467 in Maharashtra, and 375 in Delhi.

"Only those who have comorbidities and who are either too young or too old are under medical observation. Others were detected primarily after prolonged symptoms and doctors' suggestion to check the virus status," said a senior health department official.

"The concentration of the cases is relatively higher in urban areas such as Ahmedabad. Monitoring at such clusters is ongoing, and there is no need to worry." tnn
