Four petitioners — Girish Rao, Mani Ramalingam, Sathish Selvakumar and Anilkumar B S – have claimed that their children are not allowed to leave the

ashram

and not are they permitted to meet their parents. The cops also do not permit parents to enter the ashram to meet their children.

With this contention, the petitioners requested the court to direct the cops to produce the children in court so the children can tell the court about the harassment caused to them due to the police investigation.

These petitions are likely to come up for hearing on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the court heard a petition filed by the parents of kids living in the ashram demanding a transfer of investigation. They adduced more material to their petition showing how children in the

Nithyananda ashram

are embarrassed by cops in their investigation of the FIR registered by Vivekanandnagar police.

To this petition, the state government told the court that all the children living in the ashram are free to leave the ashram and there is no impediment. The government also claimed that the police do not restrain any persons from meeting their children. It rubbished the charge levelled by these parents that the cops torture the children while conducting the investigation.

A further hearing on this petition will take place on November 29.
