AHMEDABAD: A 32-year-old man was stabbed to death not far from his home in Nikol on Sunday. The deceased, Bhavesh Shrimali, was a manager at a finance company and reportedly obsessed with a young woman living in his apartment complex.
An argument over her allegedly led to the stabbing. The accused, Harsh Parmar, also a resident of the same complex, has been arrested after Bhavesh's father filed a police complaint.
Police said the incident was captured on CCTV cameras. Officials close to the investigation said Bhavesh had been following and harassing the woman, who was recently engaged.
On Sunday, she left for her village with Harsh. Bhavesh allegedly followed them on his bike. Near Galaxy Bungalows near their colony, an argument broke out between the two men, during which Harsh allegedly stabbed Bhavesh in the chest with his motorcycle key.
A heavily bleeding Bhavesh collapsed on the road, while Harsh and the woman fled the scene on the motorcycle. Bhavesh was taken to the hospital but was declared dead before treatment could begin.
